Why Saraf?
Bukan Sakit Saraf. Sains Saraf.
The Word
'Saraf' is the Malay word for nerve — the single thread that carries every signal through your body. It is also a word that has been weaponised. 'Sakit saraf' is how Malaysians say someone is crazy. We named this platform Saraf on purpose.
Because autism is not sakit saraf. It is sains saraf — neuroscience. Not a sickness of the nerves, but a science of how they connect. Different wiring. Not broken wiring.
We are not reclaiming the word for controversy. We are reclaiming it for accuracy. Every topic on this platform traces back to the nervous system — how it develops, how it processes, how it adapts. Saraf is not a metaphor. It is the subject.
saraf.my exists because understanding changes everything. When you see the wiring, you stop trying to fix the person. You start designing the world around them.
For autistic adults who spent years thinking something was wrong with them. For parents searching at 2am, desperate to understand their child. For doctors and therapists who want the neuroscience, not just the checklist.
21 topics. Two languages. Zero assumptions. This is the nervous system, explained.
Built by neurodivergents, for neurodivergents. Sustained by community. Grounded in research.
